Democratize Capital

Capital must be Democratized by Dencentralizing and Ecologizing Capital. This goes way beyond just an increase in corporate taxes.

One such step would be to nationalize and localize all core extraction industries. What does this mean? Setting up a national selling agency (much like the Wheat Board now being dismantled by our Führer Mr. Harper) which would collectively sell the extracted materials on international markets. The individual extraction industry site would be owned and run by the workers and the communities in which they reside.

Global nationalization of all pharmaceutical industries. How would that work? Haven’t a clue yet but its an idea. Bottom line: much of the important pharmaceutical research is already publicly funded and this is an industry which should be part of the global commons and completely non-profit.

Decentralizing media through regulation of ownership rules and promoting a decentralized community collectively owned model which would be democratized through regular online elections of CEOs and board members.

Democratize the CBC by allowing Canadians to participate in regular elections of its board members. Set the CBC up as an arms length collective institution of Canadians by drastically reducing Ottawa’s oversight and increasing collective Canadian people oversight.

Localize the food industry through subsidization, regulation and a national program to increase local farmers and undermine big agribusiness. Democratize agricultural land usage in order to allow new farmers to be able to farm land.

The bottom line philosophy is to have more of the world’s capital controlled by a plurality of people (workers, communities, government, collective elections) rather than having capital centralized among the elites and capitalist mentality. Most low risk ventures (such as extraction) should be owned by local collectives.
