Montreal Protests: Subverting the Corporate Disease

This video brilliantly contrasts a decentralized community culture of realism versus a corporatized version of homogenized socialization through oppression via body imagery, fear, intimidation and the sale of unattainable dream.

Subverting the Corporate disease

#Vocabulary

We want to create Vocabulary which is not singular in definition. We want Vocabulary with a plurality of depth in meaning. We have a signifier for a tree which =tree. While =tree itself can be an abstract word in the postmodern sense, society, en mass, is not a postmodern society. They will see a rigid outline, or what one could call a #PlatoForm. The trouble is: #PlatoForms are not abstract in concept. The =tree of #PlatoForms is just that: a rigid outline of a tree:

Yet what is Tree? It is the whole process of being Tree. From its origins in the big bang, to its habitat & diversity on this planet, to its integration into the O2/H2O/CO2 Hydrological Cycle, to its infinite plurality in space. We are all just bubbling stardust. However, emulating this type of deep meaning en mass, at this point, would be futile. People condemn such things as: Hogwash, Poppycock and Balderdash. Thus we need to move Vocabulary further into the abstract with words like: Ecology, Sustainability, Epistemology, Existential, Philosophical, Hydrological, Democratic, Capital – words where the Form is more diffuse than =tree. Yet while we begin this process of #PostModernization we must continually deconstruct =tree into Tree thusly continually keeping language, and, as such, Society in the Cyclical Abstract Process of Becoming. But let me be clear, to say Cyclical Abstract Process of Becoming, is not to say there is no concrete reality, however shaky, in which we objectively traverse in some material form. Thus, OUR #PlanetEarth IS warming, CO2 IS a #ContributingFactor, and OUR #PlanetEarthISFinite! But in the Cyclical Abstract Process of Becoming we must not see global warming, and its threat, as independent of CO2, human psychology, political psychology, time, species maturity, etc., etc., etc. onwards and forwards ad infinitum signifier stream.

Once we loose #VocabularicThoughtDiversity we loose #Humanity. #ResistHomogenizedCentralization. passing as #DiverseFreeEconomicMarketFactorsOfPrivatization.

“Landmark Deal” at Climate Summit

Awesome! This is so lanDMark. The talks agreed to talk. A bunch of suits blabbed on about stuff and things. They agreed about junk and spunk and in 20/20 we will have bleevanbloth. This is truly lanDMark. Their foulshilooth will become us. All hail Capital. Our Great and Fearless Leader.

I’m nothing…

but Another Mine to Hell

Democratize Capital

Capital must be Democratized by Dencentralizing and Ecologizing Capital. This goes way beyond just an increase in corporate taxes.

One such step would be to nationalize and localize all core extraction industries. What does this mean? Setting up a national selling agency (much like the Wheat Board now being dismantled by our Führer Mr. Harper) which would collectively sell the extracted materials on international markets. The individual extraction industry site would be owned and run by the workers and the communities in which they reside.

Global nationalization of all pharmaceutical industries. How would that work? Haven’t a clue yet but its an idea. Bottom line: much of the important pharmaceutical research is already publicly funded and this is an industry which should be part of the global commons and completely non-profit.

Decentralizing media through regulation of ownership rules and promoting a decentralized community collectively owned model which would be democratized through regular online elections of CEOs and board members.

Democratize the CBC by allowing Canadians to participate in regular elections of its board members. Set the CBC up as an arms length collective institution of Canadians by drastically reducing Ottawa’s oversight and increasing collective Canadian people oversight.

Localize the food industry through subsidization, regulation and a national program to increase local farmers and undermine big agribusiness. Democratize agricultural land usage in order to allow new farmers to be able to farm land.

The bottom line philosophy is to have more of the world’s capital controlled by a plurality of people (workers, communities, government, collective elections) rather than having capital centralized among the elites and capitalist mentality. Most low risk ventures (such as extraction) should be owned by local collectives.

#OccupyVancouver and #DiversityOfTactics

I understand BlackBloc tactics and neither condemn nor condone their actions. I have marched with BlackBloc activists and never felt threatened or in danger. Currently I take a neutral stance and don’t condone any “Violence” (as the media/power/institution/capital is defining the language around BlackBloc tactics) at the begining of #OccupyVancouver on Sat. Oct. 15th, 2011. Yet I understand, and in cases support, both the metaphorical element to their tactics and the ability to create space where authority and dominant structures are challenged. I agree that vandalism has metaphorical meaning within the context of corporate appropriation and commodification of all capital/property/thought/idea/language/reality and that BlackBloc actions/tactics can reclaim space for the commons. My post entitled Sympathy for the Devil explains this in more detail. I can envision a time and place for metaphorical vandalism, even within the #OccupyMovement at some point. But more to the point, the BlackBloc know how to create space in which Power is redefined as The People’s. If the embers of the #OccupyMovement flare up in unpredictable ways, which challenge True Capital and Power, such space making will be pivotal to maintaining the movement. True Power, which Democracy is suppose to control, is not given up easily or lightly. True power is intrinsically linked to Capital. If you want True Power you need to Democratize Capital which essentially means to Decentralize and Ecologize Capital. In my opinion, this should be the one demand of the #OccupyEverywhere #OccupyWorld movement:

We demand that Capital is Democratized by Dencentralizing and Ecologizing Capital.

Well … what the hell does that mean? (you ask) To be truthful I have no concrete idea; nor should I. I just have an idea, and at this point that is enough. However, I do know that for this to come to fruition we will need a #DiversityOfTactics which challenge Institutionalized Power. Such a challenge will need certain expertise and tactics which the BlackBloc have. A question we have to ask ourselves, which will inform the wording of our demand, is: How far are we willing to take this? Due we truly want a Global Paradigm Cultural Shift?
